About the position

The Sales Engineer for Metal Treatment at Henkel is responsible for executing local sales plans aligned with the strategic business unit (SBU) strategy. This role focuses on maintaining and developing existing customer relationships while acquiring new clients in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Northern Kentucky regions. The position involves providing technical sales support, managing customer needs, and coordinating with technical customer service to resolve issues and conduct line trials.

Responsibilities

  • Executes local sales plans (short, mid, long term) in line with SBU strategy to maintain and develop existing / acquire new customers.
  • Executes customer roadmap and manages / closes respective CRM tool (ACE) growth opportunities.
  • Executes pricing actions.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with customers and distributors.
  • Provides input to Manager on customer needs, business trends, competitive situations in territory.
  • Coordinates with TCS to conduct line trials / (re)solve customer requests and complaints.
  • Delivers KP OSG and PC % in territory / at defined account.
  • Supports and manages existing customers in the Metals SBU.
  • Provides technical sales support and identifies business potential within accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and/or chemistry preferred.
  • Project Management background is preferred.
  • Technical sales focused, with a strong desire and ability to develop and find new business.
  • 5-10 years of experience in metal pretreatment preferred, with areas of expertise to include coatings and pretreatment of steel and aluminum.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $100,000.00 - $145,000.00.
