About the position

The Sales Engineer position involves managing key accounts and developing new customer targets in Michigan and Indiana. The role focuses on achieving annual growth goals through effective customer engagement and strategic collaboration with Market Managers. The position requires a blend of technical sales expertise and strong problem-solving skills, with a significant amount of travel expected to meet clients and follow up on sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting and managing existing key accounts throughout Michigan and Indiana.
  • Developing new customer targets in the territory to achieve annual growth goals.
  • Traveling throughout the region, with about 5-10 days of overnight travel per month.
  • Working with Market Managers to develop strategies towards key industries.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role - direct technical sales or application engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in lubricants, chemicals, mechanical equipment sales, or key account development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of oil and grease for machinery is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills to balance travel and office work.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and negotiate effectively.
  • Open-mindedness towards unique solutions and willingness to develop new relationships.
