About the position

Nidec / Kato Engineering is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in maintaining a high-level knowledge of our product offerings and understanding the competitive landscape, including pricing structures and product strengths and weaknesses. The Sales Engineer will serve as the primary contact for both internal teams and key customers, ensuring that we meet their needs effectively and efficiently. The position requires a proactive approach to customer service, where the Sales Engineer will suggest timely solutions and present quotations to key customers. In this role, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for researching customer wants and needs, negotiating and drafting comprehensive proposals for product sales, and maintaining an updated sales funnel. Regular participation in sales reviews is expected, along with the ability to resolve customer complaints respectfully and effectively. The Sales Engineer will also be required to visit customer locations to foster relationships and attend relevant trade shows and conferences to stay connected with industry trends. Additionally, the Sales Engineer will gather and communicate customer feedback regarding service, technology, and product delivery, measure and analyze key account metrics, and create reports for upper management. Staying abreast of industry and market trends is crucial, as is identifying bottlenecks in the sales process to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Suggest solutions in a timely manner and present quotations to key customer(s)
  • Research key customer wants and needs, and suggest solutions
  • Negotiate and draft comprehensive written proposals for the sale of products
  • Maintain an updated sales funnel and participate in regular sales reviews
  • Serve as contact point for key customers and internal teams
  • Resolve customers' complaints in an effective and respectful way
  • Visit customer locations as appropriate to develop relationships
  • Attend applicable trade shows and conferences
  • Gather, report and communicate customers' feedback on service, technology and product delivery
  • Measure, track and analyze key account metrics

Requirements

  • 2-4 Years of Experience
  • Previous relevant working experience
  • Experience in sales and customer services will be an advantage
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude in networking and building relationships
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines
  • Problem-solving and negotiation aptitude
  • BS in Business, Engineering or similar relevant field or BA in relevant field with sufficient industry experience
