The Sales Engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing existing customers who use and incorporate Henkel's Aluminum and Steel Coil Coating products in their manufacturing activities. This role involves providing technical sales support and identifying business potential within accounts. Responsibilities include the qualification and implementation of products to meet customer requirements, updating forecasts, maintaining the CRM system, coordinating specification reviews, following up on the results of samples delivered to customers, preparing monthly reports, and troubleshooting. Timely and effective communication about the account strategy execution is crucial, as the Sales Engineer will need to communicate with members of management, customers, other Henkel personnel, and any involved outside third parties. The role also requires full utilization of Henkel's CRM (ACE) to manage growth opportunities and projects aligned with our account and SBU strategic initiatives, documenting and capturing all customer-related actions and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage existing customers using Henkel's Aluminum and Steel Coil Coating products.
  • Provide technical sales support and identify business potential within accounts.
  • Qualify and implement products to meet customer requirements.
  • Update forecasts and maintain the CRM system.
  • Coordinate specification reviews and follow up on sample results delivered to customers.
  • Prepare monthly reports and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Communicate account strategy execution to management, customers, and other involved parties.
  • Utilize Henkel CRM (ACE) to manage growth opportunities and document customer-related actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related area.
  • Technical sales focus with experience in metal pretreatment preferred.
  • Expertise in steel, aluminum, coatings, and pretreatment.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including approximately 10 trips to the Kansas City, MO area per year.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the coil and general industry arenas.
  • Preference for candidates based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, targeting customers along the west coast.
