About the position

Chief Buildings is seeking a Sales Engineer to join the Chief team. The Sales Engineer is responsible for communicating highly complex technical information with customers and clients, focusing on how Chief's products can be used to solve specific challenges and meet stakeholder needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that customers understand the technical aspects of the products and how they can be applied to their specific situations. Successful Sales Engineers have gone on to other positions within Chief, such as Project Manager, Estimating Manager, Project Designer, Design Engineer, Buyer, Marketing Manager, Inside Sales Manager, Technical Services Manager, District Sales Manager, and even President. This demonstrates the potential for career growth and development within the company. The Sales Engineer will process building estimates and components in an accurate and timely manner, maintain a quote backlog, and work at a fast pace while assisting others when possible. They will read architectural plans and specifications, review customer sketches against quote request forms, and question or clarify any variances that may occur. Additionally, the Sales Engineer will create special pricing for conditions that are not covered by standard pricing programs and assist Builders or District Managers with preliminary project layouts to guide them towards the most economical and efficient design. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Metal Building Experience is a plus
  • Entry level candidates may also receive consideration, as on-the-job training is offered
