About the position

The Sales Engineer (SE) at Diversified plays a crucial role in the pre-sales process by collaborating with Account Executives to provide technical expertise for various opportunity types, including Requests for Proposal (RFP), Design-Build, and Design Consulting. The SE is responsible for delivering all technical requirements for each opportunity, which includes creating a complete bill of materials with pricing, labor estimates, and detailed scopes of work. This position requires the SE to attend both in-person and virtual customer meetings, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs and workflows to design effective solutions that enhance user experience. In addition to technical deliverables, the SE will engage in discovery meetings to identify customer technology and business requirements, conduct site surveys to gather design space details, and validate solutions for standard RFP/RFQ and Consultant Design-Bid-Build opportunities. The SE will also review architectural, electrical, and mechanical documentation to ensure compliance with installation requirements and provide consistent quality deliverables to Account Executives for inclusion in proposals. This includes detailed equipment bills of materials, labor estimates, and technical scopes of work. The SE will maintain effective communication with Account Executives and customers, participate in internal kick-off meetings post-contract award, and ensure knowledge transfer to the assigned Design Engineer. The role also involves maintaining relationships with manufacturer representatives and vendor partners, as well as participating in product demonstrations and trainings.
