About the position

CertaSite, LLC is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team, which emphasizes collaboration, communication, and transparency. In this role, you will specialize in technologically and scientifically advanced products and services, utilizing your technical expertise to articulate the benefits of our solutions to both new and existing customers. As a Sales Engineer, you will report directly to a Regional Sales Manager and play a crucial role in driving revenue and expanding our market presence. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and delivering technical presentations that explain our products and services to prospective and existing customers. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide essential sales support. Additionally, you will assist clients in resolving issues with installed equipment and recommend improvements that can lower costs and enhance production efficiency. Following our established sales strategy, you will work to convert prospects into customers using the CertaSite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. You will develop tailored fire and life safety solutions for targeted prospects, demonstrating effective time management to prioritize activities that maximize quota realization while maintaining a focus on EBITDA expansion and our mission-driven values. Staying informed about competition and understanding the purchasing decisions of our customers will be key to your success. You will drive revenue by establishing and selling solutions through our comprehensive product and service offerings. Your role will also involve optimizing gross margins and partnering with marketing to ensure our value proposition remains relevant. You will gather necessary information to make informed recommendations and persuasively sell ideas to gain support and buy-in from stakeholders. Resilience under stress and the ability to balance new requests with established priorities will be essential traits for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment.
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs and increase production.
  • Follow the established sales strategy, processes and programs to shift prospects into new customers within the CertaSite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Develop fire and life safety solutions that are a fit for each targeted prospect.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management by spending time on activities that increase the chance of quota realization with a concern for EBITDA expansion, while also being value and mission driven.
  • Maintain the pulse on competition, as well as understand how the buyers of CertaSite products and services make purchasing decisions.
  • Drive revenue to CertaSite through prospects by establishing and selling solutions through the CertaSite platform of products and services.
  • Establish scale and profitability by helping professionalize the Company's go-to-market strategy and sales function.
  • Facilitate optimization of gross margin throughout the organization.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure the CertaSite value proposition and selling story remains relevant.
  • Gather all information needed to make informed recommendations.
  • Persuasively sell ideas to gain support and buy-in.
  • Use various communication techniques to gain cooperation in a negotiation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain resolute and resilient under stress.
  • Leverage contacts to stay informed of new company developments.
  • Balance new requests with established priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive technical and industry sales experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business to Business fire and life safety industry experience driving revenue and helping build strong GTM strategies.
  • Demonstrated track record of uncovering opportunities and advancing prospect opportunities to close by following a prescribed selling campaign process.
  • Strong orientation to delivering winning outcomes and possessing an emotional engine that is contagiously felt throughout the organization.
  • Proficiency in identifying high value prospects, running a disciplined sales campaign and converting prospects into CertaSite customers.
