About the position

The Sales Engineer at Actalent is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with distribution partners and ensuring customer expectations are met throughout the sales process. This role involves documenting sales activities in the CRM system and acting as the primary liaison between customers and the organization. The Sales Engineer will develop new customers and markets while supporting existing customers and distributors, evaluating distributor performance, and gathering prospective sales data. The position requires collaboration with engineering and project planning teams to ensure product delivery to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities with distribution partners.
  • Document sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Act as the primary interface between customers and the organization.
  • Develop new customers, applications, and markets.
  • Support existing customers and distributors in the region.
  • Evaluate existing distributors based on performance.
  • Gather prospective sales data to support the company.
  • Search for new distributors in underperforming territories.
  • Provide pre-sales application engineering services to accounts.
  • Execute sales and marketing strategies.
  • Perform demonstrations of product capabilities and features.
  • Conduct fieldwork with distributors to present new products.
  • Provide direct contact with prospective customers for opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to internal product management and development teams.
  • Provide weekly activity reports to company management.
  • Create and maintain new business opportunities in the contact manager.
  • Provide monthly forecast information via performance reports.

Requirements

  • Intermediate level experience in sales engineering or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project teams.
  • Experience with CRM systems for documenting sales activities.
