About the position

The Sales Engineer at Hasura plays a crucial role in the sales process by providing technical support and guidance to mid-market and commercial customers. This position involves leading architecture discussions, conducting product demonstrations, and facilitating technical workshops to ensure customers understand how Hasura can meet their needs. The Sales Engineer will collaborate with both customers and internal teams to drive product activations and purchases, while also advocating for customer requests with the product team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical sales process of customer evaluations of Hasura to achieve the technical win.
  • Work across the business to ensure customers have access to the right team based on their needs.
  • Support sales teams in answering customer product questions.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of proof of value engagements with customers.
  • Answer customer technical questions during the sales cycle and align internal engineering resources as needed.
  • Advocate for customer requests with the Hasura product team.
  • Build internal collateral for the presales team, including demonstrations and instructionals.
  • Select an area of focus to own internally as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Represent Hasura at conferences and events.
  • Build credibility and trust while influencing buying decisions.
  • Sell on value and return on investment, not just technical functionality.
  • Uncover ways to improve customer support and increase satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a customer-facing role.
  • 1+ years experience in a sales/solutions engineering role.
  • Empathetic and customer-satisfaction driven.
  • Experience supporting customers as a subject matter expert with the ability to explain product knowledge concisely.
  • High level of customer centricity and relationship building skills.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, REST/GraphQL, and proficiency with backend engineering languages (Java, NodeJS, Python, etc).
  • Familiarity with open-source, App and API development terminology.
  • High level understanding of different database technologies (e.g., OLTP, noSQL).
  • Highly motivated and driven individual who thrives working towards monthly and quarterly quotas.
  • Comfortable being on camera, in person, and in front of an audience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
