About the position

CertaSite, LLC is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team in Dayton, Ohio. This role is pivotal in promoting our technologically and scientifically advanced products and services. As a Sales Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to articulate the benefits of our solutions to both new and existing customers. You will be part of a collaborative environment that values communication and transparency, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and support. This position reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager, providing you with the opportunity to work closely with leadership and contribute to the overall success of the sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering technical presentations that explain our products and services to potential and current customers. You will collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide necessary sales support. Your problem-solving skills will be essential as you assist clients with issues related to installed equipment, recommending improved materials or machinery that can lower costs and enhance production efficiency. You will follow established sales strategies and processes to convert prospects into customers using the CertaSite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Your ability to develop tailored fire and life safety solutions for targeted prospects will be crucial. Efficient time management will be key, as you will need to focus on activities that maximize your chances of meeting sales quotas while also considering the company's EBITDA expansion. Staying informed about the competition and understanding the purchasing decisions of our customers will help you drive revenue through effective solution selling. Additionally, you will play a role in optimizing gross margins and professionalizing the company's go-to-market strategy. Partnering with marketing will ensure that our value proposition remains relevant, and your persuasive communication skills will be vital in gaining support for your ideas. You will need to demonstrate resilience under pressure and balance new requests with established priorities, all while leveraging your network to stay updated on company developments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment.
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs and increase production.
  • Follow the established sales strategy, processes and programs to shift prospects into new customers within the CertaSite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Develop fire and life safety solutions that are a fit for each targeted prospect.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management by spending time on activities that increase the chance of quota realization with a concern for EBITDA expansion, while also being value and mission driven.
  • Maintain the pulse on competition, as well as understand how the buyers of CertaSite products and services make purchasing decisions.
  • Drive revenue to CertaSite through prospects by establishing and selling solutions through the CertaSite platform of products and services.
  • Establish scale and profitability by helping professionalize the Company's go-to-market strategy and sales function.
  • Facilitate optimization of gross margin throughout the organization.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure the CertaSite value proposition and selling story remains relevant.
  • Gather all information needed to make informed recommendations.
  • Persuasively sell ideas to gain support and buy-in.
  • Use various communication techniques to gain cooperation in a negotiation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain resolute and resilient under stress.
  • Leverage contacts to stay informed of new company developments.
  • Balance new requests with established priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive technical and industry sales experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business to Business fire and life safety industry experience driving revenue and helping build strong GTM strategies.
  • Demonstrated track record of uncovering opportunities and advancing prospect opportunities to close by following a prescribed selling campaign process.
  • Strong orientation to delivering winning outcomes and possessing an emotional engine that is contagiously felt throughout the organization.
  • Proficiency in identifying high value prospects, running a disciplined sales campaign and converting prospects.
