About the position

The Sales Engineer at Rhombus serves as the main technical point of contact for prospects, assisting with account setup, technical inquiries, API integrations, and custom feature development to facilitate sales. This role involves close collaboration with both the Sales and Engineering teams to meet customer technical needs throughout the sales process and beyond, across various industries such as Education, Technology, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Retail.

Responsibilities

  • Become the trusted technical advisor for key decision-makers: CTOs, CISOs, and Senior Network Engineers
  • Engage with sales managers to understand current deal statuses and next steps
  • Conduct demos, POCs, and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Leverage technical knowledge to overcome customer barriers and concerns
  • Influence product direction with unique understanding of customer needs
  • Collaborate with support to accelerate product improvement
  • Work with Project Managers/Operations team members in the execution of designed security solutions
  • Prepare required project documentation (floorplans, scope of work, assumptions, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking & IT Security or closely related field
  • 3+ years experience in technology sales or relevant work experience
  • Genuine excitement for software and hardware products and can speak comfortably about how they work
  • Ability to clearly and efficiently articulate technical matters with customers and partners
  • Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn
  • Background in IT fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching devices is preferred but not required
  • Experience working with APIs, Python, and other coding languages is a plus
