The Sales Engineer position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on the Northeast Iowa territory, specifically Iowa City and the Quad Cities. This position is designed for individuals who possess a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen. Sales Engineers are the frontline representatives who engage directly with customers, providing essential pre-sale technical support for product and application-related inquiries. They work collaboratively with Application Engineers and Inside Sales teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of each customer. A key aspect of this role is the development of technical competence and application skills, which are vital for recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities for the diverse range of products we offer. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for making sales calls to our established customer base, fostering relationships built on trust and in-depth product knowledge. This involves assisting with the demonstration process, which includes building, dispatching, and maintaining demo units in conjunction with application engineers to effectively address customer applications and showcase the value of our products. The ideal candidate for this position will be a committed individual with an engineering mindset and a strong sales personality. They should be self-motivated and capable of identifying applications for our product line, which includes MRO, PLCs, Robotics, Sensors, Thermal Systems, Motion Control, AC Drives, Vision Systems, and Bar Code technologies. Experience with these automation products is highly desirable, as it will enable the Sales Engineer to effectively communicate the benefits and applications of our offerings to customers. This position covers an $8 million territory with established accounts, providing a significant opportunity for growth and success. The compensation plan is competitive, with a base salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, plus unlimited commission and bonuses, allowing for total annual earnings potential exceeding $250,000.
