About the position

The Sales Engineer role is pivotal in driving customer engagement and sales by initiating contact with prospects, converting them into sales opportunities, and growing existing accounts. This position involves managing customer relationships, identifying new leads, and delivering tailored solutions in collaboration with the technical team, ultimately contributing to new business development and maintaining established client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Customer Relationships by developing and nurturing long-term customer connections to build loyalty.
  • Prospect and Follow Up on Sales Leads to seek out potential clients and build a strong pipeline.
  • Provide Optimal Solutions by collaborating with the application teams to ensure the best technical solutions are presented to customers.
  • Close New Business by driving the sales process from initial contact to closing.
  • Meet Sales Goals by achieving quarterly sales and gross margin targets.
  • Customer Support (30%): Solve current customers' automation issues by gathering technical requirements, documenting needs, and coordinating with engineering.
  • New Business Development (50%): Generate leads, cold call, conduct customer visits, and pursue opportunities aiming to establish five new prospects each week.
  • Team Collaboration (20%): Work with inside resources to track project timelines, offer quote feedback, and support the customer journey.

Requirements

  • 7 years in industrial sales with proven experience in key account management and successful prospecting.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or a related technical field.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with a results-driven and creative approach to solution development.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 35%.
