About the position

As a Sales Engineer at ePUMPS, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and managing customer relationships within your assigned territory and accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to generate a forecasted sales and gross margin while ensuring exceptional customer service. You will be expected to develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, and Chemical, influencing their purchasing decisions to maximize ePUMPS' competitive position in the market. Your role will require you to act as a solutions provider, representing ePUMPS and its vendor partners professionally. In this position, you will engage directly with decision-makers, conducting product presentations and demonstrations to enhance their knowledge and awareness of ePUMPS products and services. Collaboration with rotating equipment engineers and maintenance professionals will be essential to solve customer problems effectively. You will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge about products, processes, and industry trends, ensuring you can provide informed support and service to customers. Your duties will include conducting joint sales calls with manufacturers represented by ePUMPS, attending sales meetings, and providing start-up service and support when necessary. You will also perform failure analysis of mechanical equipment, manage equipment performance improvement programs, and report findings and results in quarterly meetings. This role may require you to entertain customers and vendors after hours to strengthen relationships, and you will be expected to load and fasten equipment in the back of a pickup truck as part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Generate a forecasted sales/gross margin for assigned territory and accounts.
  • Manage all aspects of sales and customer service in specific assigned territory and accounts.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with account decision makers to influence purchasing decisions.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to enhance customer knowledge and product awareness.
  • Collaborate with rotating equipment engineers and maintenance professionals to solve problems.
  • Engage in joint sales calls with manufacturers represented by ePUMPS.
  • Attend and participate in sales and other company meetings as required.
  • Maintain a high knowledge level of products, processes, and the latest industry trends.
  • Provide start-up service and support when required.
  • Perform failure analysis of mechanical equipment and report findings.
  • Manage equipment performance improvement programs and report actions and results in quarterly meetings.
  • Entertain customers and/or vendors after hours to strengthen relationships.

Requirements

  • Engineering or technical degree and/or rotating equipment experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM software (Selltis a plus).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Influential customer service skills and accomplished at building relationships.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Accomplished at working independently and as an active member of a team.
  • Customer-centric focus (internal and external customers).
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/Selltis experience preferred.
  • Comfortable making cold calls and talking to people.
  • Mechanical aptitude; understanding of rotating equipment, fabrication/manufacturing of equipment, and machine shop practices preferred.
  • Ability to interpret industry standards and engineering specifications (API and ASME).
  • Prior plant experience preferred.
