As an Account Executive in our SPG Mechanical INW division based in Bozeman, MT, you will play a crucial role in establishing the McKinstry brand in a rapidly growing construction market. This position is not just about sales; it’s about building long-lasting relationships of trust and being a solutions provider for our clients. You will be responsible for lead generation, customer service, proposal development, and customer acquisition, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and solutions tailored to their needs. In this role, you will produce accurate estimates and assemble quality proposals while demonstrating excellent written communication skills in line with McKinstry’s guidelines. You will also be tasked with developing market strategies, including conducting SWOT and competitive analyses, and identifying vertical and horizontal market opportunities. Staying informed about market conditions and trends is essential, as you will analyze the potential of specific projects and coordinate with internal resources to ensure that deliverables meet timelines and requirements. Additionally, you will assist the Senior Account Executive with larger projects and coordinate with the Business Unit Manager to ensure successful project execution. Your role will also involve providing support to customers regarding project financing and contracting issues, acting as their single point of accountability. Building and nurturing personal relationships with both potential and existing clients will be key to your success, as will utilizing McKinstry’s tools and processes to enhance our customer relationship strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for lead generation, customer service, proposal development, and customer acquisition.
  • Produces accurate estimates and assembles quality proposals.
  • Demonstrates good written communication skills utilizing McKinstry guidelines and proposal formats.
  • Builds and owns market strategies, including SWOT analysis and competitive analysis.
  • Analyzes the potential of specific projects while considering changing market conditions.
  • Stays up to date in the marketplace.
  • Partners with internal resources to ensure deliverables meet timelines and requirements.
  • Assists the Senior Account Executive with larger projects.
  • Coordinates with Business Unit Manager to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Provides support to the customer with regards to projects financing and contracting issues.
  • Acts as the client's single point of accountability.
  • Initiates and develops personal relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Utilizes McKinstry's tools and processes to support our customer relationship strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent business experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience with a mechanical or electrical construction contractor, engineering firm or vendor required.
  • Two (2) years of experience leading and closing sales required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, and estimates required.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of Point preferred.
