About the position

Join the Snowflake team as a Senior Sales Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate closely with the sales team and channel partners to address the complex challenges faced by our customers. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs, strategizing to navigate successful sales cycles, and delivering compelling, value-based demonstrations. You will also support enterprise Proof of Concepts and work towards closing significant business deals. As a Sales Engineer at Snowflake, you will be expected to embody our passion for reinventing the database space. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to getting things done. Your role will require you to engage comfortably in both business and technical discussions, whether you are presenting to executives or collaborating with technical teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to present Snowflake's technology and vision to both executives and technical contributors at various prospects and customers. You will work hands-on with these stakeholders to showcase the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from initial demonstrations to proof of concept and implementation. Staying abreast of industry trends and maintaining a deep understanding of competitive technologies will be crucial as you position Snowflake effectively in the market. Additionally, you will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to continuously enhance our products and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  • Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to them.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake's products and marketing.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of industry experience with a minimum of 5 years within a pre-sales environment.
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos.
  • Broad range of experience within large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
  • Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems and Snowflake's solutions.
  • Ability to do deep discovery of customer's architecture framework and connect those with Snowflake Data Architecture.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred. Masters in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GSIs (EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.) would be beneficial, but not required.
