About the position

The Producer role at Graham Division of Marsh & McLennan Agency focuses on finding, engaging, and developing relationships with new clients while retaining quality customers. This position involves working closely with Account Managers and other departments to ensure the successful renewal of existing accounts and to provide comprehensive insurance solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Solicit accounts that meet Graham Company underwriting and revenue criteria.
• Prepare and present a Survey and Analysis of a prospect's current insurance policies.
• Prepare an Underwriting Submission and market the account to insurance companies for new business.
• Work with Account Managers to ensure accounts are managed satisfactorily through the annual policy period and renewed properly.
• Spot-check Account Manager's renewals, letters, billings, etc. to ensure thorough and timely service.
• Assist in claims advocacy by working with insured and/or insurance carrier in sensitive claim situations.
• Collect premiums on accounts and assist with occasional assignments for the agency's benefit.
• Pursue personal and professional development and maintain appropriate state licenses.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with large national accounts in construction, healthcare, and/or higher education required.
• College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) or more years of business experience; knowledge of the technical operations of an insurance agency strongly preferred.
• Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment.
• Excellent management skills and ability to deal with people.
• High level of organizational ability.
• Demonstrated sales skills.
• High degree of self-discipline and motivation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as math skills.
• Ability to manage an Assistant.
• Holds required and appropriate insurance agent's license.
• Maintain a valid Driver's License or alternate means to visit clients/prospects.
