About the position

The Sales Executive role at Marriott International focuses on driving sales initiatives for Marriott Select Brand Hotels in the San Diego area. This position is responsible for achieving the hotel's topline revenue goals by proactively soliciting business from various segments, including small business accounts and past leads. The Sales Executive will collaborate with hotel leadership to implement competitive sales strategies and ensure effective management of sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue to achieve hotel topline goals by soliciting business from various segments.
  • Identify and source new accounts while re-soliciting past business leads.
  • Coordinate and execute property internal mining efforts at assigned hotels.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure competitive sales strategies are in place.
  • Manage daily status change reports to help close hotel business.
  • Conduct customer-facing sales activities and site inspections for customer accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date lead information on each account in the sales management system.
  • Utilize business intelligence to generate leads and identify new business opportunities.
  • Participate in community and hotel networking events to grow account share.
  • Engage in property-related events that support the development of new accounts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, or related area.
  • OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major; no work experience required.
  • Preferred: 4-year college degree; previous experience in proactive lead generation in hospitality and sales discipline.

  • Knowledge of property-specific business segments (e.g., group, catering, transient).
