About the position

Zymo Research is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Executive to lead the expansion of its B2B business. This role is ideal for a self-starter who excels in dynamic environments and possesses strong problem-solving skills. The Sales Executive will develop and execute strategies to grow market presence, build relationships with key partners, and ensure that the product portfolio aligns with client needs. The position is critical for identifying new business opportunities and maintaining Zymo Research's leadership in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to expand Zymo Research's B2B business.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and customers.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their challenges and develop tailored solutions.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Zymo Research's product and service portfolio.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and other teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts to secure favorable terms.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a proven track record of maintaining long-term professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate market insights into actionable strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred background in biology or related life sciences disciplines.
  • Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base compensation range of $85,000 - $130,000 annually.
  • Commission structure based on performance.
