About The Position

As the Sales Floor Assistant at JCPenney, you will play a crucial role in driving customer service and achieving profitable sales growth. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and engage associates while managing merchandise standards and execution. You will also be responsible for training and developing associates, as well as executing various sales-building programs. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, ensuring that every customer has a positive shopping experience. You will model and hold your team accountable for delivering outstanding customer service, actively listening to customer issues, and resolving problems effectively. Demonstrating WORTH behaviors consistently is essential, as is partnering with other team members when additional support is needed. In addition to customer service, you will work closely with the Merchandise Supervisor to plan and execute merchandise placement plans. This includes contributing to merchandise receipt and reverse logistics processes, assisting with inventory processes such as cycle counts and system uploads, and contributing to the Shoe on Display restocking process. You will also be involved in the restock program to identify replenishment opportunities, ensuring that the sales floor is well-stocked and organized. Your role will also encompass visual merchandising and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. You will assist with the SET processes by planning floor moves, placing graphics, and executing visual detailing based on company guidance. Identifying sell-through opportunities and remerchandising the selling floor to increase the rate of sale will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will oversee and maintain all fitting room and sales floor recovery processes. As part of the general operations, you will contribute to Merchandise Transfer Out (MTO), Return to Vendor, and Return to Warehouse activities. You will assist with the Defective MTO (DMTO) process, ensuring proper and timely execution to maintain inventory integrity and prevent shrink. Participation in annual inventory processes is also expected. Throughout your work, you will support company shrink and safety initiatives, consistently meeting established performance standards for the role, including product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
