About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure an exceptional customer experience in the store. This role involves coaching and training staff, managing performance, and overseeing daily operations, including customer-facing and non-customer-facing activities. The supervisor also plays a key role in merchandising decisions and store safety, while communicating effectively with management and other departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience supporting or participating in the training and development of associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of retail customer service experience.
  • 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
  • Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Experience in a key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • Experience using store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coach and train associates on best practices and store operations.
  • Delegate tasks and follow up on daily responsibilities.
  • Manage performance and ensure adequate department coverage.
  • Engage with customers to clarify needs and identify solutions.
  • Monitor store power equipment use and coach employees on safety.
  • Assist with down stocking and area recovery.
  • Communicate upward to management regarding concerns and morale.
  • Occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty.
