About the position

LightEm' Lights is seeking a strategic and proactive General Manager to lead its business unit focused on sales and business development for permanent lighting products in North America. This role is crucial for driving sales growth and improving organizational processes, with a significant focus on the renewable energy industry. The General Manager will interface with local stakeholders and internal teams, providing leadership and guidance to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the business unit in accordance with organizational policies and goals, focusing on sales.
  • Review and improve the existing sales structure of the organization.
  • Develop, refine, and implement processes and structures as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor short-term and long-term business strategies and initiatives.
  • Drive sales and strategic targeting of key markets and clients, leveraging existing connections for business growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the recruiting and training of new and experienced sales representatives.
  • Manage and execute assigned projects, interfacing with other company divisions or functional groups.
  • Lead and develop staff members to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a change agent for business improvements, new initiatives, policies, and processes.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the team and guide coaching of team leaders.
  • Develop sales budgets, marketing strategies, and forecasts.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets, the industry, and key players influencing investment decisions.
  • Ensure a stable and effective profit margin for the business unit.
  • Support and participate in local and global trade fairs and conferences.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in sales, business development, and/or key account management within the renewable energy industry or a multi-disciplinary technical environment.
  • Extensive sales background and client relationship building within targeted markets in the USA.
  • Strong track record managing a sales budget; P&L experience preferred.
  • Excellent sales-related skills, including knowledge of the sales process and ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Ability to sell at all levels of management and build business relationships.
  • Previous experience managing teams and developing sales professionals.
  • An existing network of industry contacts in relevant industries is highly desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector.
  • Familiarity with trade fairs and conferences related to the industry.
