About the position

The Industrial Account Manager at Steiner Electric is responsible for driving outside sales activities within the northern Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana territories. This role focuses on account management, servicing existing accounts, generating new leads, and promoting the company's diverse range of electrical and industrial supplies. The position requires a proactive approach to meet customer needs and contribute to the company's growth initiatives in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all outside sales activities within the designated territory.
• Service account needs and maintain relationships with existing customers.
• Generate new leads and create new customer accounts.
• Sell to large engineering-based professional contractor firms and OEMs.
• Articulate and manage customer needs to internal management.
• Take ownership of account issues including returns, inventory, and pricing.
• Utilize CRM and analytics tools to execute customer growth plans.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on product technology.
• Cultivate prospective customers and promote company events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of outside sales experience.
• Knowledge of the electrical wholesale industry is preferred but not essential.
• Proficient in remote selling techniques and customer relationship management.
• Effective communication skills with various corporate departments.
• Comfortable selling to multiple management levels.
• Familiarity with CRM database tracking and data mining techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the electrical wholesale industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with supply chain logistics.
