About the position
Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Application Interface Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers hands-on experience in developing and optimizing user interfaces for sales applications, directly contributing to enhancing our sales processes. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a passion for technology and user experience, and is excited about the opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced environment. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position. This is a paid internship. This position reports to the Vice President of Industrial Sales.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for sales applications.
- Collaborate with developers to implement UI designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Conduct usability testing to gather feedback and refine interfaces based on user needs and behaviors.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand their workflow and suggest UI improvements that streamline processes.
- Help create and maintain documentation for user interfaces, including design guidelines and user manuals.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to the sales application interface, ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and development to align on project goals and timelines.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, User Experience Design, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- A keen interest in sales technology and improving user interfaces.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with UI/UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch is a plus.
- Understanding of front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js is advantageous.
