About the position

Ibotta is seeking a Sales Instructional Designer to join our rapidly-growing company and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The Sales Instructional Designer will have the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues to build training programs from scratch, directly impacting team success and revenue growth. The selected candidate will design and develop cutting-edge training programs, onboarding materials, and educational resources tailored to enhance the effectiveness of our sales team. This position requires close collaboration with subject matter experts across Sales, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders to create impactful, results-driven training solutions that drive sales performance. The role is based in Denver, Colorado, and is a hybrid position requiring three days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside in the United States. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing sales training materials and programs for both new hires and existing sales team members using instructional design principles. The Sales Instructional Designer will create engaging content such as presentations, simulations, role-plays, and interactive activities that address specific sales skills, processes, and product knowledge. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with sales leaders and marketing teams to identify training gaps based on sales performance data and business goals. The designer will also ensure that all training content is accurate and reflects the latest industry trends and sales techniques. Furthermore, the position requires leveraging various learning technologies and tools to deliver and track training programs, managing multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, and providing support and guidance to sales teams in the use of training materials. The Sales Instructional Designer will facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed, ensuring effective delivery of training programs while upholding Ibotta's core values of Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, and Transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement sales training materials and programs for new hires and existing sales team members using instructional design principles and methodologies.
  • Develop engaging content, including presentations, simulations, role-plays, and interactive activities, that address specific sales skills, processes, and product knowledge.
  • Work closely with sales leaders, marketing teams, and product managers to identify training gaps and requirements based on sales performance data, feedback, and business goals.
  • Ensure all training content is accurate, up-to-date, and reflects the latest production information, sales techniques, and industry trends.
  • Leverage various learning technologies and tools such as HighSpot, Workday Learning, authoring tools like Rise 360, and virtual training platforms like Zoom to deliver and track training programs.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to ensure that sales tools and training materials remain relevant and effective.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality training materials and programs.
  • Provide support and guidance to sales teams and trainers in the use of training materials and tools.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed to ensure effective delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in instructional design preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on sales or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of instructional design models, adult learning principles, and best practices in training and development.
  • Proficiency in instructional design and sales training platforms and tools (e.g., Rise 360, Workday Learning, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a compelling manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
