About the position

The Sales Intern position at KCBS2/KCAL9 TV offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the operations of a major Broadcast News Television Station, specifically within the Sales and Marketing Department. Interns will engage in various day-to-day activities, assisting with promotions, collaborating with multiple departments, and supporting the production team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sales Marketing management in executing sponsored promotions (on-air, online, and on-site)
• Work closely with departments that have day-to-day interaction with Sales Marketing (Research, Production, Creative Services, Digital, News)
• Assist production team on local commercial shoots
• Ideate and create sales proposals and recaps
• Act as an on-site representative for station and client sponsored events
• Provide administrative support related to daily operations of the Sales Marketing Department
• Research market trends and promotions and submit weekly reports to Sales Marketing management

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Photoshop
• Proficient in writing and creating social media content on all major platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
• Innovative idea generator, able to think outside the box to create unique opportunities
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Established history of delivering projects on-time
