About the position

The Sales Intern position at Principal offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the asset management and distribution ecosystem. Interns will work closely with the North America Sales and Relationship Management team, gaining insights into financial markets and investment products while contributing to various projects across the organization. This role emphasizes professional development, networking, and collaboration within a dynamic global sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and engagement of new and existing investment clients.
  • Support a wide variety of projects across multiple business lines within Principal Asset Management.
  • Work with internal partners on communications, report generation, and collection of prospect-related data.
  • Develop expertise with contemporary tools such as Salesforce, Morningstar, and Xalt to support sales teams.
  • Contribute to a fun and creative team culture while networking with professionals.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate level degree.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Interest in a career in sales and asset management.
