About the position

The Sales Lead at J.Jill plays a crucial role in supporting the management team to achieve store sales and profitability goals. This position focuses on creating a positive and energetic store environment, ensuring a superior customer experience, and acting as the sales floor leader. The Sales Lead assists in visual merchandising and operational standards, stepping in as the manager on duty when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve individual and store sales and productivity performance goals.
  • Communicate store and individual goals to associates and motivate them using metric results.
  • Identify and celebrate individual and team successes.
  • Build customer loyalty by creating genuine connections and achieving credit card and email capture goals.
  • Resolve merchandise and customer service issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Promote a positive store atmosphere of teamwork and individual contribution.
  • Act as a Sales Floor Leader and role model to ensure customer satisfaction and sales goals are met.
  • Encourage associates to enhance product knowledge and assist customers in building outfits.
  • Assist in training new associates with a focus on product and customer experience.
  • Plan and execute floorset and ongoing re-merchandising of the store.
  • Maintain excellent visual standards consistently on the sales floor.
  • Replenish the sales floor to ensure all sizes are represented.
  • Adjust weekly store schedules to meet customer needs when acting as manager on duty.
  • Utilize company tools for optimal daily floor coverage and task management.
  • Participate in operational functions including policy implementation, marketing, and store cleanliness.
  • Oversee inventory processes to protect company assets and reduce shrinkage.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Women's Specialty Retail experience required.
  • 1+ years in a store supervisory position preferred.
  • Strong leadership qualities, training, and team building skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven sales track record.
  • Strong style, merchandising, and wardrobing skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate goals and objectives to the team.
  • Entrepreneurial and creative mindset.
  • Proficient in Point of Sale and general Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience in relevant Human Resource processes.
  • Availability to work during peak business periods, including weekends.
