About the position

The Sales Lead at White House Black Market is a pivotal role that supports management in fostering a customer and product-focused sales culture. The Sales Lead is expected to embody the brand's passion for fashion and commitment to making women feel beautiful through a styling and social experience. The role involves not only driving sales but also nurturing a high-performance culture within the team, motivating associates to meet their sales and productivity goals while ensuring that they are well-trained in product knowledge and customer service techniques. In this role, the Sales Lead will oversee various operational activities, including opening and closing duties, merchandise flow processes, and maintaining standards in merchandise handling and presentation. They will supervise associates engaged in sales and inventory management, ensuring that the store meets all brand performance and behavior standards. The Sales Lead will also be responsible for building and maintaining a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobing, ensuring that customer concerns are promptly resolved, and that the register experience is efficient and secure. Additionally, the Sales Lead will play a crucial role in talent development by supporting training programs and providing feedback for performance appraisals. They will promote an inclusive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and seek personal development opportunities to enhance their leadership skills. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business and ensure adequate coverage at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and communicate clear expectations for the store team, holding them accountable for achieving brand standards.
  • Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as opening and closing duties, and merchandise flow processes.
  • Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory receipt, and customer services, ensuring proper floor coverage within fiscal guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, presenting and displaying merchandise accordingly.
  • Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
  • Train and coach the selling team on product knowledge and customer service techniques.
  • Model, teach, and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards.
  • Build and maintain a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobing.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns and a fast, efficient register experience.
  • Support and implement training programs and provide follow-up for all seminars and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year retail or sales management experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company.
  • Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage.
