About the position

The Direct Sales Leader position at Summit Business Group is a leadership role focused on outside sales within a designated territory. This role involves leading by example, training and mentoring new team members, and managing a personal book of business. The Direct Sales Leader will engage with small and medium-sized businesses to provide supplemental insurance solutions, ensuring client satisfaction and building long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and mentor new team members in sales techniques.
  • Manage a personal book of business while training others.
  • Cultivate relationships with business owners and key stakeholders.
  • Assess client needs and present customized insurance solutions.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM for client engagement and management.
  • Conduct cold calls and face-to-face meetings with potential clients.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with the sales manager on targets.
  • Prospect new businesses and maintain relationships with existing clients.
  • Submit daily sales metrics and activity reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, preferably in customer-facing or outside sales roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive training cycles, both in-person and online.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Genuine passion for assisting and empowering clients.
  • Health & Life general lines license, or willingness to obtain it within 90 days.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in the insurance industry.
