The position involves handling customer inquiries and lead requests for group sales within predefined parameters. The role requires working closely with customers to align their preferences with brand needs, actively upselling business opportunities to maximize revenue and enhance customer loyalty. The successful candidate will ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner to guarantee quality service delivery. This position emphasizes the importance of delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience, processing business correspondence, and creating contracts and other related booking documentation as necessary. The candidate must demonstrate excellent selling skills, strong communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of property operations, food and beverage services, and event planning. In addition to managing sales activities, the role requires collaboration with other sales channels to ensure coordinated efforts that are complementary rather than duplicative. The candidate will need to understand the overall market dynamics, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively close sales. The position also involves executing and supporting the operational aspects of booked business, such as generating proposals, writing contracts, and maintaining accurate communication with properties in accordance with brand standards. The candidate will be expected to implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in sales operations. Building successful relationships is a key component of this role. The candidate will drive customer loyalty through exceptional service throughout the sales process, understanding customer needs, and recommending appropriate features and services. Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential for enabling future bookings and resolving any guest issues that may arise during the sales process. The candidate will also be responsible for bringing any significant issues to the attention of property and group sales leadership teams as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Handles customer inquiries and lead requests for groups within predefined Group Sales parameters.
  • Responds in a timely manner to incoming group/catering opportunities.
  • Works with customers to align preferences with brand needs and actively upsells business opportunities.
  • Verifies that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery.
  • Maintains customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent selling skills and strong communication skills.
  • Collaborates with other sales channels to ensure coordinated sales efforts.
  • Understands the overall market and how to sell against competitors.
  • Closes the best opportunities for each property based on market conditions.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals and writing contracts.
  • Transfers accurate, complete, and timely information to property in accordance with brand standards.
  • Implements process improvements and best practices.
  • Processes business correspondence and creates contracts and other related booking documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area.
  • OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no work experience required.
  • Preferred: 2 years experience selling group business, either at a property or in a sales office.
  • Knowledge of property operations and Food and Beverage (F&B).
  • Knowledge of the group sales process and how to close a sale.
  • Team-based selling experience.
  • Hospitality Management Degree.
