About the position

The Sales Manager - Analytics position in the pharmaceutical industry focuses on leading and optimizing Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE). The role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in analytics processes, including reporting, call planning, territory alignment, incentive compensation, and segmentation. The candidate will work hands-on with data, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor a team of analysts to achieve business goals effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance sales force effectiveness in areas like call planning, territory alignment, goal setting, and incentive compensation.
  • Analyze and utilize pharma commercial data sets such as DDD, NPA, NSP, APLD, Rx, and call activity to derive insights.
  • Lead analytics operations including brand launch support, customer segmentation, patient analytics, market mix modeling, and campaign effectiveness measurement.
  • Stay updated with recent commercial model trends, such as dynamic targeting and multi-channel call plans.
  • Work with various data sources including sales, CRM, and secondary data to identify strategies that optimize sales and marketing decisions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 analysts, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in alignment with company goals.
  • Interface with senior leadership and stakeholders to provide thought leadership and insights on commercial models and SFE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Technology, or related fields.
  • MBA or MS in Statistics or related disciplines preferred.
  • Proven experience in pharma commercial analytics processes, including reporting, segmentation, and incentive compensation.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and R.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of analysts.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience working with pharma commercial datasets (e.g., DDD, NPA, NSP, APLD).
  • Prior experience in sales analytics within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
