About the position

The Sales Manager at Norfolk Waterside Marriott is responsible for driving corporate business growth in group and special corporate markets. This role emphasizes relationship building, client entertainment, and delivering exceptional customer service while managing various aspects of events and sales activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct heavy research and prospecting to identify new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal partners.
• Provide high levels of customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries and communications.
• Manage existing accounts and segments while developing new business for the hotel.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of pre-event, event, and post-event details.
• Attend customer functions as needed to foster relationships.
• Forecast group rooms and F&B revenues with internal and external partners.
• Gain knowledge of the hotel's food and beverage products and function space.
• Achieve sales activity and individual revenue goals as outlined by management.
• Utilize digital sales systems and understand the hotel's sales strategies.
• Participate in internal meetings, training, and planning sessions.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration within the sales team.
• Advocate for personal career development and training opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience in corporate and transient markets is a plus but not required.
• Strong time management and self-motivation skills.
• Proactive planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with clients.
• Familiarity with digital sales systems and sales processes.
