About the position

The Sales Manager for the El Paso, Arizona, and Juarez area at Green Bay Packaging Inc. is responsible for managing and directing the sales, design, and customer service teams to implement the organizational sales strategy. This role aims to drive revenue growth and achieve financial objectives in alignment with the strategic plan set by the President/General Manager. The Sales Manager will focus on hiring top talent, coaching team members, and creating opportunities for their growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the President/GM to create commercial plans to deliver strong business results across the Division.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while emphasizing volume growth and profitability of territory through prospecting new customers.
  • Develop reports and tools that provide data to strategically discuss opportunities with the management team which lead to new profitable revenue growth.
  • Responsible for selecting, training, mentoring, and motivating the sales, Design and Customer Service teams.
  • Coach teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers.
  • Establish team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives.
  • Support and identify drivers to develop a highly engaged sales team.
  • Assist in setting the standards for performance; holding the sales team accountable to those standards; and quantifying results.
  • Learn, and where possible apply, all available GBP corrugated competitive product offerings.
  • Develop a Sales Budget and assume accountability for follow-through on goals and forecasts.
  • Facilitate sales meetings; plan and participate in customer entertainment events and functions (may include evenings and weekends).
  • Participate in pricing and work with Sales Representatives, Customer Service and Design to improve margins.
  • Support and implement price changes as necessary.
  • Negotiate as needed for a win/win outcome.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5-10 successful years in a direct sales position with significant experience in opening new accounts.
  • Sales Management experience within packaging industries is a plus.
  • Strong overall commercial background and business acumen is desired.
  • Strong PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to manage multiple people/tasks and several departments.
  • Requires strong leadership abilities, motivation, and coaching/developing skills.
  • Must be well organized to stay close to direct report's activities.
  • Strong knowledge of the corrugated or packaging business is preferred.
