About the position

The Sales Manager will oversee the sales, design, and customer service teams in the El Paso, Arizona, and Juarez area, implementing the organizational sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve financial objectives. This role involves identifying and hiring top talent, coaching team members, and creating opportunities for their development while collaborating with the President/General Manager to deliver strong business results.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the President/GM to create commercial plans to deliver strong business results across the Division.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while emphasizing volume growth and profitability of territory through prospecting new customers.
  • Develop reports and tools that provide data to strategically discuss opportunities with the management team which lead to new profitable revenue growth.
  • Responsible for selecting, training, mentoring, and motivating the sales, Design and Customer Service teams.
  • Coach teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers.
  • Establish team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives.
  • Support and identify drivers to develop a highly engaged sales team.
  • Assist in setting the standards for performance; holding the sales team accountable to those standards; and quantifying results.
  • Learn, and where possible apply, all available GBP corrugated competitive product offerings.
  • Develop a Sales Budget and assume accountability for follow-through on goals and forecasts.
  • Facilitate sales meetings; plan and participate in customer entertainment events and functions.
  • Participate in pricing and work with Sales Representatives, Customer Service and Design to improve margins.
  • Support and implement price changes as necessary.
  • Negotiate as needed for a win/win outcome.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5-10 successful years in a direct sales position with significant experience in opening new accounts.
  • Sales Management experience within packaging industries is a plus.
  • Strong overall commercial background and business acumen is desired.
  • Strong PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A clean (Non reckless or DUI) driving record and good to excellent personal credit score is important.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of the corrugated or packaging business is preferred.
  • Requires strong leadership abilities, motivation, and coaching/developing skills.
  • Must be well organized to stay close to direct report's activities.
