About the position

As a Full Time Sales Manager at Carter's, you will serve as the first point of contact for families, guiding them through their shopping experience and introducing them to essential products for their children. This role emphasizes creating a welcoming and inclusive environment while leading a team to optimize their skills and knowledge about the brand's offerings. You will be responsible for fostering customer loyalty and ensuring a positive shopping experience, all while contributing to the growth and development of your team.

Responsibilities

  • Become a product and brand expert to assist families with their needs from preemie to size 14.
  • Welcome customers warmly and provide assistance with product styles, features, and benefits.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach on the sales floor.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for both employees and customers.
  • Model service standards and omni-channel experience while coaching others to success.
  • Lead and execute an assigned business focus area through planning and detailed follow-through.
  • Perform Leader on Duty supervisor responsibilities, driving results and addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Utilize customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and implement actions to drive results.
  • Build customer loyalty through company-sponsored programs, including credit offerings.
  • Provide consistent, in-the-moment feedback to the store team and raise performance concerns to the Store Manager.
  • Recognize exceptional performance through positive reinforcement and appreciation.
  • Support the store team with Asset Protection through customer service, safety awareness, and operational controls.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds as needed, with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time and climb up and down a ladder.
  • Availability that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of two closing shifts a week.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer and technology skills (Outlook, Excel, Web navigation, etc.).
