About the position

The Sales Manager at Jacksonville Hilton Garden Inn is responsible for driving sales through proactive solicitation and relationship management. This role requires a strong focus on outside sales calls, inside appointments, and effective communication with clients to convert leads into confirmed bookings. The Sales Manager will also assist in developing the annual marketing plan and ensure all necessary details for group bookings are documented and communicated effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a successful and aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, and direct mail.
  • Spend 80% of time in active sales solicitation.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in preparing the annual marketing plan and action plans for assigned market segments.
  • Send proposals on all leads that fit the property profile and follow through to convert proposals to definite status.
  • Obtain, document, and route all necessary information on definite groups, including billing information and rooming lists.
  • Document details on meeting arrangements, menus, and audio-visual needs, and pass this information to the catering manager.

Requirements

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent sales skills and product knowledge in a professional manner.
  • Willingness to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
