About the position

The Sales Manager at Caterpillar Inc. is responsible for leading a team that provides sales operations support to Caterpillar dealers and Cat Financial field teams in the US. This role involves achieving business plan sales targets, developing and executing sales and marketing plans, and ensuring dealer satisfaction while fostering strong relationships. The position requires a blend of leadership, industry knowledge, and customer focus to drive sales and support the growth of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 support managers and 30 sales support representatives.
  • Deliver business plan sales and market share targets for Construction Industries in the US.
  • Partner with Area Managers and sales teams to develop and execute sales and marketing plans.
  • Oversee loan and lease quoting, deal structuring, and credit negotiation processes.
  • Provide system training and support to dealers in the origination platform Capitalstream.
  • Manage dealer wholesale origination and merchandising claims resolution.
  • Ensure dealer satisfaction and develop team members for outstanding dealer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, preferably in finance, marketing, or management.
  • MBA preferred with relevant experience in finance and sales.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to create customized solutions.
  • Extensive industry knowledge and ability to apply it to diverse situations.
  • Proficient in decision making and critical thinking with a focus on informed judgment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
  • Negotiation skills to achieve win-win outcomes in business relationships.
  • Experience in relationship management and maintaining healthy working relationships.
