About the position

Morris South is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a team of Capital Account Managers in the southeastern U.S. This role involves driving sales performance, mentoring staff, and developing strategies to penetrate new markets. The Sales Manager will report to the VP of Sales and will spend significant time in the field, working closely with the sales team to achieve sales quotas and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of six Capital Account Managers, driving accountability for meeting sales quotas and metrics.
  • Coach and mentor sales staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by Capital Account Managers.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train new sales staff.
  • Conduct quarterly scorecard reviews to appraise job results and maintain sales staff performance.
  • Build annual business plans and sales strategies to penetrate new markets.
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships with clients and vendors to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Integrate department activity into the CRM system and promote the use of Salesforce.com by the sales team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a flawless customer experience.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales management, particularly in supplier relationship management and sales processes.
  • Experience with engineered products sold into traditional manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and metal forming/fabrication.
  • Knowledge of the CNC industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a track record of leading technical sales professionals.
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to build positive relationships.
