About the position

The Sales Manager at PB Fasteners is responsible for overseeing all inside sales activities, including sales, customer service, and communications. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans, directing sales forecasting, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to corporate goals. The Sales Manager will also analyze market needs, direct staffing and training, and represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inside sales activities including sales, customer service, and communications.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet corporate goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for inside sales and communications.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing schedules, and discount rates.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations for the sales program.
  • Establish sales territories, quotas, and goals for channel development.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Assist sales representatives in maintaining relationships and negotiating deals with key clients.
  • Coordinate communication between the sales department and other related units.
  • Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assist in preparing manuals and technical publications for other departments.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential client base expansion.
  • Direct product research and development activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competitors.
  • Supervise subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees in the Sales Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management and customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
