About the position

The Territory Sales Manager - ES at Republic Services is responsible for leading the sales team in the Environmental Services sector, focusing on both non-hazardous and hazardous waste stream management. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating sales activities to maximize sales volume and drive profitable growth while developing the sales staff professionally. The manager will implement comprehensive business strategies and ensure superior performance through effective coaching and management of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements comprehensive business strategies and sales and marketing plans.
  • Achieves consistent results through superior performance.
  • Directs a staff of sales and administrative personnel, including hiring, training, and performance coaching.
  • Manages sales performance and customer interaction using a leading CRM tool.
  • Leads the sales team through the establishment of value selling and a standardized sales process.
  • Fosters an atmosphere conducive to professional development and career advancement.
  • Works with business unit teams to understand and implement key processes and solve constraints.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of the Company's services and pricing.
  • Analyzes and customizes the sales force structure against defined sales opportunities.
  • Monitors and analyzes the effectiveness of customer, sales, and marketing programs.
  • Assists with new customer solicitation, bid preparation, and retention strategies.
  • Participates in developing and implementing pricing strategies.
  • Maintains awareness of market behavior and competitive trends.
  • Reviews Customer Service Agreements for accuracy and requirements.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a sales role, including experience in peer leadership or supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role (preferred).
  • Experience using business and sales software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Salesforce).
  • Experience developing comprehensive strategies.
  • Strong experience managing in a matrix organization across a large geographic area.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and competitive drive.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to identify needed information and tackle problems logically.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and enlist support from others.
  • Experience in sales, client relations, or business development in environmental services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in petro-chemical in-plant waste management.
  • Proven expertise in hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
