About the position

The Sales Manager at Spring Mill Inn is responsible for leading and developing proactive sales efforts across various market segments, including group business, leisure, and social markets. This role involves oversight of advertising and promotional initiatives, contributing to the hotel's revenue generation, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Sales Manager aims to exceed booking goals and budgeted revenue expectations while maximizing hotel profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue
  • Meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue
  • Handle inquiry calls and monitor the efficient flow of paperwork for confirming function details to clients
  • Solicit new and repeat guest room and event business
  • Maintain a client base of key accounts and conventions
  • Determine client and guest needs
  • Make outside sales calls and phone solicitations to obtain business
  • Conduct on-site inspections to book business
  • Assist in evaluating potential business opportunities for profitability and overall benefit to the hotel
  • Represent the hotel in community affairs and industry-related events
  • Maintain accurate sales records database and reports to provide history and enhance prospects
  • Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department

Requirements

  • A professional demeanor and warm personality
  • Ability to engage and connect with individuals from various backgrounds
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Two or more years of hotel experience
  • Computer skills and knowledge of industry-focused systems
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
