About the position

The Sales Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the sales activities for a designated division within Republic Services. This role aims to effectively execute sales strategies that maximize sales volume, drive profitable growth, and develop the sales staff professionally. The Sales Manager will oversee a team of sales and administrative personnel, ensuring that sales goals are met and customer relationships are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies and sales and marketing plans.
  • Develop the sales forecast and maintain accountability for sales goal achievement.
  • Direct a staff of sales and administrative personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assist with new customer solicitation, bid preparation, and customer retention strategies.
  • Meet regularly with sales personnel to review sales activity and performance.
  • Proactively contact assigned accounts to identify customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Participate in developing and implementing pricing strategies with business unit leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate customer needs.
  • Complete all required sales reports in a timely manner.
  • Review Customer Service Agreements for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory or management role in sales.
  • Experience developing comprehensive sales strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to understand customer needs.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and competitive drive.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and support organizational change.
