About the position

The Sales Manager at Sell My Rig is responsible for driving sales of heavy-duty commercial trucks and trailers, specializing in Class 8 trucks, reefer trailers, and dry vans. This role involves building and nurturing relationships with fleet owners, engaging in proactive networking, and understanding market trends to position Sell My Rig as a trusted partner in fleet asset sales. The Sales Manager will work closely with various departments to promote products and fulfill customer needs while utilizing Salesforce CRM to manage sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in the sale of Class 8 trucks, reefer trailers, and dry vans, serving as the subject matter expert.
  • Establish and grow sales in the region through strategic partnerships and collaboration with team members.
  • Identify and engage prospective customers, consulting with them to understand their business needs.
  • Develop and apply targeted sales strategies to increase market share within the designated Area of Operation (AOR).
  • Build a robust customer pipeline by actively following up with leads and providing accurate information.
  • Foster strong relationships with potential buyers to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Collaborate closely with Truck Sales, Finance, Parts, Service, Leasing, and Marketing teams to promote products.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to track and manage all sales activities and client interactions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and OEM representatives for product support.
  • Develop and customize specifications for customers based on their unique needs.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and industry shifts to adjust sales strategies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in outside sales, ideally within the commercial truck or equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with Class 8 semi-trucks and trailers (sleepers, dry vans, and reefers).
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% for client meetings and industry events.
  • Strong networking and communication skills for building and sustaining relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while being an essential part of a team.
  • Familiar with industry trends and the ability to leverage insights.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
