About the position

The Sales Manager position is a key role within a growth-oriented company specializing in high-pressure pumps and sewer cleaning equipment. This position is responsible for directing sales strategies, managing a sales team, and promoting overall sales growth in the Southeastern US, particularly in the Atlanta, GA area. The role includes developing relationships with major accounts, implementing sales plans, and contributing to the professional development of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Direct annual sales plans with each sales representative defining sales goals, strategies, and programs.
  • Promote national sales plan that outlines an overall sales strategy.
  • Recommend and implement strategic actions that advance growth of revenue and profitability.
  • Assist with professional development of sales team including performance reviews and sales training.
  • Implement annual budget and finalize sales goals for each region and salesperson.
  • Develop relationships with top executives of major current and prospective accounts.
  • Representation at relevant trade shows or technical conferences.
  • Assist with increasing market share by developing long term business plans.
  • Identify and justify new product development opportunities.
  • Monitor and communicate sales results and progress to sales reps regularly.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for the hiring of all new sales personnel.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing a sales team with a proven record of increased sales growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience in capital equipment sales.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to demonstrate equipment and troubleshoot functionality.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to understand the industry and safety related to the use of the equipment.
  • Ability to pull a trailer and physically demo the equipment.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
