About the position

The Sales Manager at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to achieve top-line sales growth while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves overseeing Beauty Advisors, Prestige Beauty Advisors, and Lead Cashiers, focusing on performance metrics, team development, and operational excellence. The Sales Manager is expected to embody Ulta Beauty's mission and values, driving accountability and fostering a culture of service and collaboration within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed sales and service goals.
  • Drive company profitability by identifying underperforming metrics and developing strategies for improvement.
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to maximize productivity and achieve sales goals.
  • Plan and execute in-store events to enhance guest experience and drive sales.
  • Review and analyze financial and operational reporting to react timely to business needs.
  • Perform makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest service.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge to better serve guests.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
  • Build a highly engaged team through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages associate growth and engagement.
  • Support associate professional development through training and feedback.
  • Establish professional relationships with brand partners to achieve sales goals.
  • Model teamwork and guest service excellence alongside the leadership team.
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Manage store scheduling and attendance effectively during shifts.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss through adherence to operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement by influencing the adoption of company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of fast-paced retail management experience.
  • Proven success in driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets.
  • Experience in monitoring inventory levels and achieving operational excellence.
  • Ability to attract, develop, and motivate top talent.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with basic technology, including Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
