About the position

The Sales Manager at Fleet Farm is responsible for overseeing 1-3 sales zones or departments within the store, focusing on enhancing customer experience, driving sales growth, and ensuring effective visual merchandising. This role involves leading a team, implementing best practices in customer service, and maintaining operational standards to ensure a consistent and positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on key areas of store operations including team members, customer experience, sales growth, customer readiness, and store planogram execution.
  • Teach, train, coach, and mentor the team to develop consistent and best-in-class execution and customer service.
  • Oversee the development and execution of individual development plans for direct and indirect reports.
  • Ensure staffing levels are aligned with budget and customer needs, in collaboration with human resources.
  • Hire, train, develop, and manage the performance of all team members.
  • Ensure consistent execution of customer readiness standards and maintain in-stock levels for trip assurance.
  • Set and merchandise end caps correctly and ensure displays are clean with appropriate signage.
  • Promote Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3 years of management experience within a Big Box retailer preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and build relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to direct and motivate a diverse population including full-time and part-time team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, plan and delegate tasks, monitor and achieve goals, and respond to change.
  • Flexible schedule with open availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
