About the position

The Sales Manager at La-Z-Boy is responsible for achieving store sales goals through exceptional customer service and in-depth knowledge of La-Z-Boy products. This role involves leading the sales team to foster long-term customer relationships, drive sales, and ensure operational excellence within the store. The Sales Manager will also focus on team development, hiring, training, and maintaining a positive work environment to enhance overall store performance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales to consistently achieve store sales goals by personally selling furniture and accessories.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and design team to promote the In-Home Design Sales program.
  • Maximize store promotions and marketing initiatives.
  • Hire, train, and retain high-quality team members.
  • Coach the team using the Company selling model to drive action.
  • Create an environment that empowers the store team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Train and develop the selling team on product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Ensure associates have the necessary tools to perform their job responsibilities.
  • Champion the La-Z-Boy selling process and oversee client interactions.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, including showroom displays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport.
  • Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in furniture sales or retail management.
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software.
