About the position

The Sales Manager at Vail Resorts is responsible for exceeding revenue targets while supporting team dynamics and participating in leadership opportunities. This role requires a strong alignment with the company's strategic sales objectives and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, close, and contract group business using strong negotiating skills and creative selling techniques to achieve and exceed team and individual goals.
  • Develop thorough working knowledge of all Vail, Beaver Creek, and Crested Butte owned and operated venues and activities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future booking success via sales calls, client entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Partner with the Service and Operations teams to provide a customer experience that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide customer intelligence in evaluating market economic trends, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, supply and demand, etc., and adapt sales strategy accordingly.
  • Attend internal stakeholder meetings as assigned to drive resource efficiency and report on business updates.
  • Contribute to the health and strength of a dynamic team culture.
  • Embrace and contribute to an Enterprise-wide culture of leadership.
  • Pivot to support cross-enterprise priorities as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven success in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Experience within Delphi FDC (training will be provided to the right candidate).
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Flexibility to travel in the resort as needed (transportation is the employee's responsibility).
  • Phone required for client-facing roles - phone plan is available (candidate must either opt into company plan or assume responsibility for a business phone solution).
  • Company-use IT Technology Kits are provided for job requirements of corporate remote employees.
