About the position

The Sales Manager at Orchard International Group, Inc. is responsible for driving revenue growth for two luxury boutique hotels in San Francisco. This role focuses on generating new business, particularly in the high-end corporate and leisure segments, while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The Sales Manager will engage in prospecting, sales calls, contract negotiations, and presentations to ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue goals in assigned market segments for two hotels in San Francisco
  • Conduct prospecting calls daily to uncover and qualify new high-end business leads
  • Make regular outside sales calls to sell to new prospective clients and further develop relationships with existing clients
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
  • Identify new business that fits sales parameters
  • Consistently make prospecting calls
  • Aggressively pursue new accounts on a weekly basis
  • Consistently book repeat business
  • Develop long-term business relationships
  • Make on-site and field presentations to prospective clients
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals
  • Follow through to ensure logistical and other requirements are in place for groups and other special bookings; also prepare special guest amenities and ensure appropriate room assignments for VIP bookings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years sales experience, including significant recent achievement in hotel sales
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • Prefer 2 years working in hotel sales in an upscale boutique or independent hotel
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively move through the sales process
  • Comfortable presenting features and benefits of hotels to corporate travel managers, consortia and groups large and small
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent listening and follow-up skills
  • Ability to assume responsibility and provide accountability
  • Creative problem-solving skills

  • StayNTouch reservations system experience
  • Bay Area experience
  • A 'can-do' attitude with a calm, organized approach in all situations
  • Comfort and confidence working with laptop/iPad and all related software
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
